The Exhibition S+
by The Pioneers Of Solargraphy
3-21 September 2012,
Gallery of the Media Centre Lume, Hameentie 135 C, 00560 Helsinki
The
first ever international exhibition by the pioneers of solargraphy will
take place in Helsinki, Finland during 3 – 21 September 2012.
Exhibition S+, in the gallery of Media Centre Lume, consists mainly of
solargraphs, but other images such as anamorphic images, videos and
pinhole cameras will be on display.
These photographs are taken by pioneers of an unique technique they
decided to call solargraphy, and the images they created became known as
solargraphs. The images record the motion of the sun – invisible to the
human eye- by capturing the daily path of the sun across the sky over a
certain period of time using an exposure of anything from one day even
up to six months. Very little was known generally about Solargraphy
until, around the turn of the millennium, the solargraphy pioneers made
this unusual photography famous worldwide with their global projects.
The
exhibition at the Media Centre Lume, Helsinki, will display works from
Spain, Poland and Finland. After yeas of international co-operation, the
artists/photographers/ will be meeting each other face to face for the
first time.
